A Chicago woman has been left brain dead after she was viciously beaten by an eight-time felon, police said.
The woman, 61, who has not been identified, was riding the CTA Red Line on January 4 when she was targeted by two men - one of whom was allegedly convicted criminal Mijawon Johnson, 36.
As they attempted to steal her purse, Johnson pinned the woman to a seat and repeatedly punched and stomped her head and stomach, and jumped on her 'with all of his weight', prosecutors said.
Johnson was on parole for armed robbery at the time of the attack, has served six stints in prison and now faces charges including attempted murder - which could be upgraded as the woman is not expected to survive.
The beating erupted at around 1:30am, when Johnson was allegedly captured on surveillance footage approaching the woman on a train car.
At some point during the attempted robbery, the attacker flew into a violent frenzy and repeatedly attacked the woman's head and stomach.
Officials said he 'stomped' her before leaving her for dead on the train. She was found by train staff when it pulled into Roosevelt Station - around 12 minutes down the line from where the attack took place.
The victim is believed to currently be 'on a ventilator and brain dead', CWB Chicago reported. Prosecutors said she is not expected to live.

DEI on the 1:30 train.
Hard to be angry with him. He was turned loose on society to do his masters’ work, and he was just doing it a bit too well. How else do they advance to a Cloward-Piven situation if we take their workers off the street.
I am not angry with him, but if on a jury, I would l quickly for the death penalty for him and his masters.
This makes me so angry. What happened to 3 strikes? This guy had 8.
That’s why I have hollow point ammo. If, God forbid, I have to put someone down, I want to make sure they stay down.
democRATS...
If she had fought him off with a gun, she’d be in jail.
Maybe they will keep Mijawon Johnson in jail this time. The authorities ought to haul all the people who released Mijawon Johnson over the years, lawyers, judges... whomever in front of the bench as well.
Better jail than brain-dead.
The raw intelligence just LEAPS from his face. Don't imprison him; he might find the cure for cancer or solve previously unsolvable mathematical problems!
He might be an aspiring rapper.
If you happen to give these thugs so much as a dirty look, The full force of the Law will descend upon you like a ton of bricks. Thugs such as this are protected by the Law.
—”What happened to 3 strikes? This guy had 8.”
A guy I knew was a solid citizen, enjoyed the ponies, and sadly developed a deep liking of John Barleycorn.
He was a well-liked local HVAC guy and did the technical part of my AC system many years ago.
He had two alcohol-related police events...
He drove his girlfriend to do some shopping and he slept in the car.
Unbeknown to him the GF attempted to leave the store without paying for a gold necklace.
When arrested, asked if any one was with her, she pointed out her sleeping friend.
He became an accessory and this was strike number three.
About two years later I saw him walking and gave him a ride, he looked awful, had huge weight loss said he was released for medical reasons.
He died of cancer a few weeks later.
I was always told keep shooting til they quit moving then one to the head just to make sure they ain’t play’n possum.
Mijawon. a nice Irish name.
The justice system in another industry that needs to be streamlined.
Taxpayers pay for them:
To be arrested
Jailed
3 hots and a cot
The defense and prosecution, the judge, the jury
Then the appeals
Jail and prison
I don’t see much justice being applied
If she passes Mijawon deserves the Electric Chair…slow increase in voltage until his brain fries. This crap has to stop.
Yep. Looks like a picture in an NFL program.
