Recently watched the Death Wish and Dirty Harry dvds.
I have never been able to watch a shooting scene since Elmore Leonard’s novel Killshot without evaluating whether the fictional shooter properly made certain the perp weas dead and not coming back bleeding and angry with a hostage later on. Leonard was the best.
I read a forum post from a retired officer who said 90% of people shot by a handgun do not die, including suicide attempts. He said one felon was hit 20 times by bullets and continued walking and shooting at officers for about 40 feet.
A head shot finally stopped him from firing at officers.

I always hate it in movies where some good guy or girl shoots the bad guy. Once. No! Shoot them till you’re sure they’re dead. Empty the magazine if necessary.
That’s why I have hollow point ammo. If, God forbid, I have to put someone down, I want to make sure they stay down.
