The Army has delisted its advertising campaign titled "The Calling" on YouTube, making it harder to find the videos on the platform. The 2021 effort to court potential applicants from LGBTQ+ and other diverse backgrounds sparked a backlash from conservative lawmakers and pundits.
"The Calling" was delisted from the service's YouTube channel last week, hiding it from search results and recommendations, according to Laura DeFrancisco, a spokesperson for the Army's marketing arm, who said usage rights for music were set to expire. One of the ads, called "Emma," featured a soldier who operated Patriot missile systems and was raised by a lesbian couple.
The series of ads focused on individual, personable, real service members from diverse backgrounds as a way to appeal to the shifting demographics of Gen Z. They were based on the idea that relatively low-ranking soldiers pitching service might be more trustworthy to potential applicants skeptical of institutions than corporate jingles or generic images of troops jumping from planes.
The service also delisted some ads from its "What's Your Warrior" campaign, a slick series of ads highlighting the Army's different job opportunities, particularly those in science and technology.
The military services have faced a historic recruiting slump in recent years. The Army came up 10,000 recruits short of its 65,000 goal last fiscal year.
Meanwhile, more than 20% of Gen Z identifies as LGBTQ+, according to a 2021 Gallup poll.

Seriously. This nonsense is generational - it took 30+ years to develop and will take at least 30 to reverse - and we're still a long way from reaching peak insanity.

And you are right. It takes a special kind of person who is willing to walk in front of a bullet or come back in pieces to protect this country from terrorists leaking into our world here and killing innocents. If they listen to and only consider negatives they probably aren’t that type of person. You have to want to make a difference. If you don’t want to, then don’t get in the way of those that do. I have counselled young adults on entering the serice. I told them the truth. And the one line I used each time is it isn’t for everybody. You have to want it to pay the price.
There are three types of people in the world:
Those that watch things happen, those that make things happen, and those that sit by and say, “what happened.” Each person has to make that choice.

Red China and (Soviet) Russia are sitting back waiting for us to collapse. If we don’t then they will sling their nuclear weapons at us.
If they wouldnโt have discharged people for not taking the shot they wouldnโt be in this situation. Iโm not worried about what happens if a war comes to our shores. Middle America produces young men and women who are tough, make the best snipers, need little to no military training because their dad or uncle or whatever has been in the military. Oh yeah, and own a large percentage of the 400 million guns in this country.
In terms of the future leadership of this Regime, it is much higher at the Ivy League.
