In a notable victory for Florida’s minority party, Democrat Tom Keen was elected to the Republican-dominated Florida House in a special election held Tuesday. Facing off against “conservative patriot” Erika Booth, Keen won 51.3% of the vote in District 35, which covers parts of eastern Orange and Osceola County. The District 35 seat has been vacant since former state Rep. Fred Hawkins, resigned from the seat last year to take a job as president of South Florida State College.

I definitely smell the influence of one Gyorgy Schwartz.
The dude looks sleazy.
Idiot voters- no shortage of them.
Maybe like the corpulent Disney “princess” who worked at the gift shop and sported a full beard?
“According to unofficial numbers posted around 7:30 at the Osceola County Supervisor of Elections office, 20.7% of eligible voters turned out, while Orange County saw 18.8% turnout. Nearly twice as many Osceola County voters chose to vote by mail, while that trend was reversed in Orange, with the majority of voters turning out in person.”
Somebody needs to teach the boy to stand a little closer to his razor. Florida’s Don Johnson look went out in the 80s.

Gee whiz, you’d think a governor of solid red state would show up for a campaign appearance once or twice for that seat...oh I forgot, he’s too busy losing 90 out of 90 counties in Iowa.
How bout dat red wave...
He looks like a pedo...no wonder they voted for him.
That sounds about right.
Now he won’t be homeless and living under an overpass and sleeping in a tent. Perhaps he’ll get a razor and hang up that sign he displays at traffic lights.
Should be all in person, one day and on paper ballots.
The Florida governor and Republican legislators could have done that if they wanted to, but they didn't.
Opportunity lost.
I wonder how much the abortion issue played into Mr. Keen’s victory. Florida passed a law last year banning nearly all abortions past six weeks of pregnancy. There is also an abortion rights initiative that made it to the 2024 FL ballot. I plan to vote “no” on that one. and I will hope that over 40 percent of the voters think likewise (Florida has a 60% supermajority threshold for an initiative to become law).
This is bait and switch. The District use to be in t& very red Herando County. It was switched to the very Blue Oronge Counrt and the gop canidate STILL almost won.
This is how you know the EVIL RATS and the dirty mediapukes still have power! How in the world have the rats won so many races considering how they have devastated this nation…HOW IN THE FREAK??!!!! Our side is not showing up at the polls! I know our party is a bunch of corrupt spineless weasels pieces of chit like the DC RINO swamp, but we can’t let the evil rats dominate every election or we are truly done!
That was my first thought too. Maybe if he'd been more actively involved in what's going on in his state, the seat could have been saved. DeSantis is too busy collecting his taxpayer-funded paycheck while on an 8 month long vacation.
Disney area, and yes the guy looks like a scumbag.
