We are in a two party system, so aspiring politicians face a binary choice of which one to join.

“We are in a two party system, so aspiring politicians face a binary choice of which one to join.”

Maybe an aspiring politician has that limited choice, but not in this case.

The GOP field for Michigan Senate (Meijer, Rogers and a bunch of other hopeless losers) is woeful aside from perhaps James Craig, who I trust is not as clueless as he was in 2022 when he naively allowed Democrat operatives in disguise to deliberately gather invalid signatures for him, and was thus disqualified.

Craig is the best of a feeble lot, and he’d still be at least a 5 to 10-point underdog no matter what some outlier polls might falsely suggest at some point. He’s nothing but John James 2.0.

Even as bad as the GOP options are, I’ll wager dollars to donuts that the only way Amash jumps into this race is as an INDEPENDENT for the sole purpose of taking votes away from the Republican and making sure that the dangerous (as far as Amash is concerned) prospect of “President Trump” will not have a GOP-controlled Senate to work with should Trump somehow win, but instead a Rat-controlled Senate to persecute him again.

This race isn’t likely to be close enough to need an I to detract from the R, but Amash’s ego and bank account might still prod him to run anyway.
