Anne Gorsuch, a former chief of the Environmental Protection Agency, cut a flamboyant, defiant figure in early 1980s Washington as she slashed air and water quality regulations.
She fought with environmentalists, was held in contempt by Congress and eventually resigned under pressure from the Ronald Reagan White House that had championed her. Her memoir was, appropriately, entitled: “Are You Tough Enough?”
Her son Neil Gorsuch, a Supreme Court justice since 2017, has shown his own brand of defiance and anti-regulatory fervor.
In recent years, Justice Gorsuch has voted against regulations that protect the environment, student-debt forgiveness and Covid-19 precautions. During a Covid-19 spike in early 2022, Gorsuch was the lone justice who declined to wear a mask while sitting on the bench.
He has led calls on the court for reversal of a 1984 Supreme Court decision that gives federal agencies considerable regulatory latitude and that, coincidentally traces to his mother’s tenure. The Supreme Court will hear a pair of cases on Wednesday testing that 40-year-old case known as Chevron USA, Inc. v. Natural Resources Defense Council, which has become the touchstone for resolving conflicts over agency powe

Gee? Is there a problem? Justice Gorsuch favors citizens over bureaucrats. That’s what the constitution says , Amendment 10. Works for me.
I sure hope the conservative judges on the SCOTUS have stellar personal protection services. Just saying.
The phrase “Federal Agency” never appears in the Constitution.
Its right to always question where they get their power and authority.
In recent years, Justice Gorsuch has voted against regulations that protect the environment, student-debt forgiveness and Covid-19 precautions.
Why do people who claim to not trust the government always vote for more government power?
Death by a thousand agencies.
In his confirmation hearings the rat senators pushed the notion that he always sided against the little guy.

Because a lot of people have forgotten, never learned, or are too dumb or lazy to take care of themselves.
I lready like him. You don’t have to keep convincing me.
A woman was appointed head of the EPA? By whom? Where was that glass ceiling?
Reagan appointed her. That misogynist!
The “glass ceiling” exists only for leftist females. Not because they are held back, its just they are unqualified to perform.
I am always unpleasantly impressed with the messaging discipline that the legacy media and the Democrat elite are able to manage.
Every single establishment outlet has led with exactly the same narrative: Gorsuch is biased because his mother worked for Reagan in 1983(!), Chevron was unanimous verdict and “protects the environment” and “Koch”.
On message, instantly.
Why can’t the opposition manage something even half as focused?
What CNN isn’t telling you is that most of those regulations were unnecessary, often vindictive government overreach.
Gorsuch is the only one of Trump’s picks that’s worth anything. No wonder they are going after him.
I fail to see the problem. It sounds like he is on the right track.
It is so funny but when appointed I had my doubts about Gorsuch, he has turned out to be a GREAT justice!! Kavanaugh was NOT worth the fight we had to seat him!!
As usual, the lamestream media focuses on what they think of as bad policy decisions, as though Federal agencies and SCOTUS were some kind of super legislature, which is the point in question precisely because under the Constitution they are not.
