UVALDE, Texas (AP) — Police officials who responded to the deadly Uvalde, Texas, elementary school shooting waited far too long to confront the gunman, acted with “no urgency” in establishing a command post and repeatedly communicated inaccurate information to grieving families, according to a Justice Department report released Thursday that identifies “cascading failures” in law enforcement’s handling of the massacre.
The Justice Department report, the most comprehensive federal accounting of the maligned police response to the May 24, 2022, shooting at Robb Elementary School, catalogs a sweeping array of training, communication, leadership and technology problems that federal officials say contributed to the crisis lasting far longer than necessary. All the while, the report says, terrified students inside the classrooms called 911 and agonized parents begged officers to go in.

About a month ago, my son gave a ride (Uber) to someone who was part of this investigation. His passenger told him a lot of things about the Uvalde shooting. He had a huge amount of material on the multiple failures of mental health services to neutralize this threat before he went and shot up a school.
Whoa...what a surprise.
Well it’s been a year since the incident, it’s time to rewite history and use faulty psychology and observations to be Monday quarterbacks. A lot more kids, staff, and cops could have been killed if they had rushed him. But it’s easy to coulda, shoulda. And it’s all for the use of the story to promote gun control. Just wait for it.

Remember that yellow coward Resource Officer that hid during the Parkland school massacre?
Multiply that 376 times and you have Uvalde.
The FBI has upped the game on identifying potential mass shooters including leveraging interventions which do not necessarily require arrest and adjudication.
School systems are still reluctant to become team players because of liberal bias against law enforcement masquerading as "protecting confidentiality".

The FBI identifies same not to interrupt or prevent but seemingly to facilitate and encourage.

Yeah, but we knew all this. So, why are they bringing it up now?
They want Texas to look bad and incompetent as it stands up to the invasion. They want to discredit Texas in general and undermine its credibility even in the eyes of its own citizens.
Also they want to justify the hideous operation Jim Jordan blew into the open regarding tracking people who shop at Gander Mountain, Bass Pro, etc., as proof that the Feds are on top of mass shooters even though state and local entities are helpless and virtual “keystone cops.”
I was not supersized it was a Border Patrol Agent to initiate the action that killed the scumbag. They know the check list of when deadly force is authorized.
Once the perp had checked all the boxes no supervisory authorization was necessary or needed. Just do you job, save the kids and accept the consequences.
All the lazy security officers outside shud be tried for assisting in the murders.
It was also a mom who got tackled and threatened with arrest who got her kid and a bunch of other ones out after she pretended to cooperate and promised not to hop the fence and run in. After they let her up she hopped the fence and ran in.
Why has not the law enforcement leadership in that town been brought up on charges? Many lives could have been saved with even the barest minimum of effort.
Not that long ago, any man worth calling a man would not have held back, no matter what - there would be no greater honor than fighting and dying for your family, your friends, your community, your country.
Not today. Not since Columbine and Parkland and other times.
Every single cop who stood there, wearing the uniform and a weapon and never went in to get those kids crying for help should be branded on the forehead with the letter "C" for Coward.
