But when you have former President Trump saying, oh, no, we can’t do that, because let’s just go ahead and blame the Democrats.

Trump TRIED, and to a significant degree, he DID fix it. He did it through executive orders and executive branch policies like "Remain in Mexico", because Congress REFUSED to pass legislation to fix it. Biden reversed Trump's policies and disregards the law. Manchin claiming "Trump didn't fix the border so he could blame Democrats" is a lie. He is blaming his own failures on Trump.

He can’t declare an emergency. That would be Exhibit A in the Supreme Court case between Texas and Biden. If Texas can enforce its border, that takes away the eastern half, 1254 miles, of the border for the illegals and cartels to exploit.
