AZGOP’s new chair took $15k per month from the taxpayers to ‘consult’ the state senate on securing elections, only to produce nothing

Last week I wrote a blog on an “explosive” audio recording that featured Jeff DeWit, the chair of the Arizona Republican Party (before he promptly resigned in disgrace), attempting to bribe Kari Lake out of the senate race with a cushy corporate position and money from shadowy figures somewhere on the east coast—the revelation was only “explosive” to some because, for those of us who’ve had firsthand experience dealing with the AZGOP, it really was not surprising at all.

The chair of the state party leading the charge to derail the America First (and Arizona first) movement? This is nothing out of the ordinary; DeWit’s predecessor, Kelli Ward, repeatedly undermined and sabotaged the grassroots, all to aid and abet Martha McSally in handing over another federal seat to Democrats.

The chair of the state party protecting the interests of the political establishment? Again, we’d just been through this with Kelli Ward, who “imploded” when confronted about the fact that she had no plans to force governor Doug Ducey to end the Covid “emergency” he was using to tyrannize the people of Arizona. To add another level to the betrayal, at the time Ward refused to take any action against Ducey, he’d recently certified the 2020 presidential election results for Joe Biden, despite the endless evidence that things had gone awry.

The chair of the state party sabotaging election integrity and the will of the people? I’ll say it one more time… Kelli Ward. (Ward herself signed off on the “accuracy” of the machines after Maricopa County GOP Chair Linda Brickman cited a “problem” with Maricopa County’s handling of the presidential election.)

DeWit’s resignation on January 24th came at a rather fortuitous time because the party had its annual “mandatory meeting” on the books for this past weekend. On Saturday, party members elected a new chair, a woman by the name of Gina Swoboda.

It wasn’t for nothing, it was to try to buy off Kari Lake.

If the Chairman of the Arizona Republican GOP is out there attempting to manipulate elections, you can imagine what the Communist left is doing.

It seems that whenever we look under a GOP rock we find a putrid mess.

Here we go again. There are people in my AZ State Party who want to destroy everything. Gina Swaboda was endorsed by Trump and Lake. But that’s not enough because the haters want complete control over the Party.. We are nine months aways from the most important election of our lifetime and all these people want to do is undermine other Republicans that they deem “UNWORTHY.” If this keeps going on, we’ll lose the State. We have a one vote majority now. The DEMS are spending millions of dollars and are organized while we just fight amongst ourselves. I am running for State Senate so I know what I am talking about. I have never seen it this bad.

These state GOP chairs are in it for the limelight, cocktail parties, patronage power, and money. Notice they are not it it to organize the various county committees, attract members to GOTV, recruit conservative candidates, etc.

In NY we have Ed Cox, Son in Law if Richard Nixon and married to daughter Tricia. He does NOTHING for the GOP State party.

This why when I get a call pleading for money from the GOP, I hang up.

Sounds like a hit piece on Lake and the great Kelli Ward, who did a terrific job, expanding our house seats by 2.

Hey, we need to listen to her. She graduated from University of Arizona in 2017 with a history degree. And she was on the soccer team! And as an undergraduate she was a volunteer at a non-profit in Portland working with homeless.

She is an EXPERT on everything now.

Thanks for that. My man who attended over the weekend thinks we have a “strong team going into the election”. And he scrutinizes using his head, not his heart. Very sharp fellow.

As an outsider looking in, it seems to me that the real leader of the Arizona GOP is the ghost of John McCain. If you look at it with that thought, it all makes perfect sense.

Well said Hildy. There are forces at work undermining all the good work the republicans have done and are doing. Rinos and rats are really the worst but we do have to work with them (unfortunately). We can only affect change for the better if we win.

John McCain’s political supporters and family don’t have a lot of say in Arizona politics as GOP insiders? He was Senator in Arizona about as long as Biden was in Delaware and Biden OWNS Delaware, politically speaking. And when he dies all this yes-men are not going to stop acting like Biden acolytes, his politics will survive him. Arizona isn’t like that though? I’m not an expert, I admit I’m an outsider, but when the opinions of McCain’s widow are reported on a national level before an election it seems to me that he still casts a long shadow in the state.
