OK, if I take a book that has a cover similar to a Koran but it is blank inside and burn it, am I guilty of anything?
To me it is a bit like burning the American flag that it not exactly the correct proportion. Is it a flag of the US or not?
As an aside, I am in favor of letting people burn our flag. I then know my enemy.
Exactly! That was my first thought, too! I suspect that it will have to be like holding up a bank with a toy gun:
The Danes will, obviously, have to expand the law to include and "putative representations, facsimiles, parodies, or mock-ups" of holy books or anything "resembling or purporting to be" the Koran or "caricatures, cartoons, or other visual depictions" of religious leaders, esp. Mohammed, peace be upon him or anything "that a reasonable person might think was intended to denigrate the One, True, and Only Faith."
The Danes are getting there. They're not quite there yet, but they're getting there.
