MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WZTV) — Six defendants were convicted of federal civil rights offenses Tuesday following their blockade of a reproductive health care clinic in Mt. Juliet in March of 2021.
The defendants were each convicted of a felony conspiracy against rights and a Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE Act) offense.
According to evidence presented at trial, Chester Gallagher, Heather Idoni, Calvin Zastrow, Coleman Boyd, Paul Vaughn and Dennis Green engaged in a conspiracy to prevent the clinic employees from providing, and patients from receiving, reproductive health services, a civil right secured by the FACE Act.
As part of the conspiracy, Idoni, Zastrow, Boyd and Green traveled to Tennessee from other states to participate in the clinic blockade, and Gallagher and Vaughn stalled the Mt. Juliet Police Department through negotiations that Gallagher referred to as a delay tactic.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Middle District of Tennessee, evidence at trial further proved the defendants violated the FACE Act by using physical obstruction to interfere with the clinic’s employees and a patient because the clinic was providing, and the patient sought, reproductive health services.
“These defendants are being held accountable for unlawfully obstructing access to reproductive health services,” said Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. “The Justice Department will continue to enforce the FACE Act to protect the rights of those who provide and those who seek access to such services.”

I recall the bumper stickers “WWJD” - “What would Jesus Do?” From what I have read, He would “make a whip, turn the tables over and drive them out in a holy rage”. As David had said, “The Zeal of your House has eaten me up!” The founders would have been similarly outraged, and would have acted accordingly. Today, looking in the face of Tyranny and Decadent Evil, we must not become violent, but we must peacefully, and fearlessly, stand for Life. As a response to this injustice we should gather at every killing site in the country and sing hymns 24/7. (Ref Ps 69, Jn 2)
Since abortion is no longer a constitutional right, the FACE act would be invalid as there is no federal government interest in protecting abortion clinics that are not located on federal property.
President Trump should pardon them all as his first act when he returns to office. Add all of the J6 political prisoners and any conservatives targeted by the left who have weaponized everything from FBI to the IRS, and so on.
Then his new AG should negotiate a settlement with them for $13 million (match it to the penny for what Washington gave the BLM protestors).
After an overhaul of the FBI, a careful look at the statute of limitations needs to be made to see what open crimes the Democrats have done that are still eligible to be prosecuted.
