I only use my American Express (CHARGE CARD). I can buy a house with it if I choose. I just have to pay the bill in full in 30 days.

I haven't purchased a car in years from an OEM. Back in the day when I made a purchase I was required to secure the purchase with a down payment. If my memory serves me correctly, auto dealers limited CC down payments to 10% or less.

I just ordered a rooftop tent/truck bed shell. I had to pay in full upon ordering and it was required to pay be credit card. It wasn’t a small purchase (about $7,000) so I was surprised they wanted a CC with the fees they’ll pay.
