Maybe she’s just saying that now as an excuse, but if she really believed that at the time, then she’s guilty of being a fool or ignorant, not someone who supports pedophilia
Pedophiles are remarkably good liars. Sadly, she isn’t the first and won’t be the last to believe their remarkably good lies. One strike and you’re out is the only solution. Because they most likely had 100 other victims before they were actually caught.
