Family members were locked out and banned from visiting.
I remember those days. We were visiting my wife's mom every week while she was in assisted living. During the Covid days, we could only wave to her through the door windows. No visitors allowed inside. A notification to a worker would have them bring mom near the door for a few minutes to wave to us - no conversation allowed.
I feel this contributed to her demise a few years ago, from depression at 96 years old, in the facility. Before Covid, despite some dementia she was upbeat and perky.
