Democrats are all about throwing scraps to their political base.
They throw 'abortion' to women voters as if they were all one bloc with solely this concern, and 'amnesty' or open borders to Latinos, as if they were all a single bloc, too.
At election time, they come out with their offerings and tick their group boxes -- women, Latinos, what have you.
Once they've done that, they dust their hands off, and then go back to lining their cronies' pockets. For Democrats, it's that simple.
But what happens if they ... make a mistake? Instead of throwing alfafa at the voters they treat like barnyard animals, they throw ... glass shards?
That seems to be what's happening in this buried lede in this Los Angeles Times op-ed by far-left pro-open-borders columnist Gustavo Arellano:
In a 2019 Public Policy Institute of California survey, 75% of Latinos thought illegal border crossings, at a time of much-publicized migrant caravans, were either a “crisis” or a “serious problem” — more than the 70% of whites who felt the same way.
And the shift continues. A December survey by UnidosUS, formerly known as National Council of La Raza, of more than 3,000 Latinos in eight states showed that California Latinos were more open to “increasing border security” than Latinos in Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina. We tied with Florida for last place in wanting the government to provide a path to citizenship for so-called Dreamers. Of all the states, we least wanted to increase legal immigration or allow an amnesty for undocumented immigrants.
It's not just that Latinos are against illegal immigration -- they are against it more than whites -- which would include the sort of suburban whites who don't see the impact of illegal immigration on their communities,

Not surprised, whether they did it legally or not, once here they feel threated much more with the illegal immigration.
No surprise - the ‘Cat Women’ are KILLING our society. Not nearly as many in Hispanic cultures.
Legal immigrants often struggle for jobs, housing ,education and basic services. Then you add millions and millions of illegals who are crowding them out? Yeah no wonder Hispanics feel the way they do against the illegals.
Makes sense.
They generally get the brunt of it.
Their "political base" includes the entire population of the world, most of which simultaneously hates America and wants to live here.
The could be reason for whites to understate their resistance to stopping illegals—and for Hispanics to overstate theirs.
Plus, it makes them all look bad.
They know that anyone who meets them or sees them will presume they are illegal.
I sure would not want that done to me if I went to the trouble of doing it legally.
Classic class envy.
New math? Latino is 18 percent of us population.
It’s harder for democrats to lie about illegals to Hispanics than to any other group. They know.
Blacks are also against the invaders. When Trump came to GA last month, the streets were lined on both sides, welcoming him with cheers and signs.. Ga is trying to stop Trump.. and the treatment has bugged the blacks here.. a black race that has voted democratic... is changing their minds.
Of course they do, it directly affects them.
From the communities they live in, to the money they make.
It’s like journalists think all Hispanics are communist revolutionaries and not people who work for a living.
When evil, corrupt, criminal people come to your town and start creating massive criminal statistics and they happen to look and often speak like you...fairly or unfairly, it can often give you and your people a bad reputation! This happens in every group of people, not just based on race, but based on association.
If you hang out with bad people, people will think you are bad.
If you look like bad people, people will think you are bad.
If you dress like bad people, people will think you are bad.
Now, most people with any sense of decency or morals will try to disassociate or at least distance themselves from the reprobates of their group, race, etc...it is a survival mechanism (i.e., blacks who can and want better for themselves and their progeny will LEAVE high-crime black areas, whites who can and want better for themselves and their progeny will LEAVE white-trash areas, etc.).
Latinos are not stupid...they know bad apples in their midst...they do not like bad apples causing problems for themselves or their progeny.
PERIOD!
The Lakewood Church shooter was an El Salvadorian immigrant who was detained by ICE. Genesse Moreno (Who also went by the alias Jeffery Escalante) had a voting record in the 2020 election.
When people ask: “Where is evidence that illegals vote in elections”, you can point to this instance as just one example.
Like I posted in #14.
Let’s be honest, there was a time when most full-time carnival workers were thought of as lazy, sleazy grifters - carnies were “bad” people.
There may have been a few “salt of the earth” workers in that group (think of Navin Johnson (Steve Martin) in The Jerk), but as a general rule, the public still thought of all carnies as BAD PEOPLE.

It’s not just the number. It’s where they are located that’s causing the rat party to have heartburn. They are in heavily democrat areas. If 25% swing right, it could redden a whole bunch of districts.
