The Harris County Sheriff's Office in Texas released body camera videos one week after a woman was shot by deputies after allegedly being mistaken for an intruder.
On Feb. 3, deputies responded to a burglary at the Pines of Woodforest Apartments in the Cloverleaf area at about 2 a.m.
The caller spoke with our sister station, ABC13 Eyewitness News in Houston, last week, saying he wishes he hadn't reported the suspected break-in, considering what happened next.
"I was sitting on my couch, and I just started hearing glass breaking," Mitchell said. "I heard [the sheriff's office] knock on the door, nobody responded, and then maybe five seconds later, I heard a gun."
Asst. Chief Tommy Diaz said deputies saw the apartment window broken, knocked, and announced their presence, but as they stepped away from the entrance, an armed woman could be seen through the window approaching the door.
Seconds later, deputies fired multiple rounds, striking 28-year-old Eboni Pouncy who shares the apartment with her girlfriend, but Diaz said she wasn't an intruder.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THEM!
I’m pro cop, but that was inexcusable!
With race baiting ambulance chaser; Crump, she'll make the most out of poor black lesbian gunned down by 2 White racist cops
JBT ping
It’s horrendous she was shot, but hiring race-baiter Crump to extract maximum damages via “hate crime”? That’s reprehensible, too.
They took time to reload their magazines.
If I’m ever in that situation, I’m going to assume a prone position with my arms stretched upward and I’m just going to stay in that position, no matter the orders given.
You’ll be happy to know one of the officers received disability and he moved to the Philippines.
Exactly.
“If I’m ever in that situation, I’m going to assume a prone position with my arms stretched upward and I’m just going to stay in that position, no matter the orders given.”
I have been in that situation several times. Immediately plant your face in the dirt on your belly with your hands on top of your head and your fingers interlaced no matter what they tell you. And even then they will land on you with a knee and try to break your back while yelling “stop resisting”.
“THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THING is that our deputies went home safely that night.”
Because their lives are priceless while civilian lives are a dime a dozen and expendable.
“And what the arrogant numb-nuts don’t realize is that they are civilians, too. If they want to play army they need to enlist and ask for an 11B mos.”
Yep, that is what I see too. And WE are the enemy.
How about “Drop the gun and put your hands on your head!” before firing?
IF she lived there-—why was she breaking glass???
DIDN’T she have her own key???
APPARENTLY-—SHE DID have a gun-—BUT NO KEY ???
You can't. If you try they'll kill you without hesitation or consequence.
Other criminals can shout "police!" too. For those wearing magical blue suits though, it's a license to kill.
Room mate forgot to give her the key. Told her to break the window to get in. Neighbor saw that and called the police.
I just noticed that this was a call on Uvalde Rd.
“I just noticed that this was a call on Uvalde Rd.”
???
The name just stuck out, as it was not long ago associated with a failure to engage, on the part of law enforcement.
I see...
