Saw news about a plane, ( may not be Delta), maggots fell on passengers from overhead bin.

Bingo! My first thought, too. He must be really worried about something. Is FJB ready to nationalize the airlines?

Well, the article says they wrote him first.

I once worked on a consulting project for Delta. It was by far the worst run company I ever had any dealings with.

two days after more than 100 House members in a separate letter called on him to stay neutral in union talks ...I think the question is why are congress critters telling a CEO that he should not have a say in his employee labor negotiations.

Maybe he’s heading off President “Stop your price gouging”? You know, the well-meaning elderly gentleman with the poor memory who never even ran a lemonade stand.

Back in ‘82 (that's 19 82), the airline was losing money. The employees were concerned and also a bit embarrassed that were the only major carrier with out a recently introduced 767.
So they pitched in and bought one for the company they loved!
Boy, how times change!

Those who are kneejerk freemarketeers will say that a CEO's primary responsibility is to his company's shareholders.
Screw the customers and the employees.

ANY/EVERY CEO is “INVOLVED” in UNION talks.
CONGRESS is who should stay out of this.
BUT—SINCE BIDEN IN WEDDED TO THE IDEA THAT EVERY SINGLE JOB IN THE US SHOULD BE UNION-—I GUESS HE IS PUSHING CONGRESS TO BE INVOLVED

Too bad your No. 1 job isn’t getting people to their destinations safely and on time.

Why do they want the CEO to stay “neutral” in union negotiations? That’s part of his job duties and fiduciary responsibility to investors.

Maybe the CEO should clean out the Maggots first

Delta employees should get a bonus for every flight that doesn’t suck.
Based on my past two years of flying experience…very few bonuses would be paid.

“First off why does the CEO of Delta writing to congress in the first place?”
Not congress. Congressmen.
He was responding to their letter.
