Pro-Illegal-Immigration Boston City Councilor Thinks Other Places Should House Illegals
The New Boston Post ^ | Feb 14, 2024 | NBP Editorial Board

Some left-wing politicians in Massachusetts are totally in favor of housing illegal immigrants – somewhere else.

The latest example: Boston city councilor Julia Mejia, who says she doesn’t want more of them in Boston.

So where should they go?

“Dedham, Wellesley, Brookline – you know, cities and towns that have so much more resources than the city of Boston. You know, people who actually have more financial support,” Mejia told NBC Boston recently.

Now, when it comes to “resources” – public buildings, let’s say – nowhere in the state has more of them than the city of Boston.

Yet what she’s talking about, of course, is per capita income. It’s higher in the towns west of Boston than it is in Boston, goes the logic, so people there ought to make room for illegal immigrants.

“I think everybody needs to be opening up their doors because this is a shared responsibility,” Mejia said.

But how is it a “responsibility”?

And how is it “shared”?

Our government and our society have a responsibility to provide basic public services for United States citizens and for foreign-born non-citizens who are here legally. We do not have a responsibility to take care of all of the needs of all of the world. Nor do we have the capacity to do so.

This is not to blame foreign-born people seeking a better life in a better country than their own. It’s not their fault that they want to exchange a suboptimal situation there for a better one here.

And they might even claim they were invited. They certainly have gotten signals to come – from conniving public officials who ... have little respect for our laws, our customs, and our poor people.

Massachusetts has foreigners pouring into it for two reasons:

I get a real pleasure out of seeing these Communist havens
squirm, after getting just a little dose of reality.

How about just permanently deporting them? ALL of them. Including their supporters in this country.

The left is on the verge of finding a way to violate the only Amendment in the Bill of Rights they haven’t got to yet, the 3rd. Ever wonder why the 3rd is right behind the 2nd? The Quartering act and forcing people to house British soldiers in their homes really pissed off the patriots. More than the stuff listed in the 4th, 5th, and 6th.

Is she even a legal citizen?

How many illegals is she taking into her house? She said she doesn’t have the room? C’mon. She can squeeze one or two of ‘em in there.

If someone takes in illegals... wouldn’t that make them their sponsors and they become fully responsible for them?

"To each according to his need, from each according to his ability." Right out of the Communist playbook!

In NY, deblasio sent the homeless to Upstate NY. Paid for their lodgings for a year only. Property owners now have a hard time evicting them. Any money they made during that year is now being used on legal fees!
How cool is that?

I agree...partially. Dedham is middle class and working class so they shouldn't be expected to take anyone. Brookline (home of Mike Dukakis)...Wellesley (aka: "Swellsley")...Newton...Weston...Amherst (home of the University of Massachusetts) and,of course,Martha's Vineyard should be taking the lead here.

And then we can move on to New Canaan,Scarsdale,Georgetown (DC),McLean,VA,Palo Alto....

They should send them to live in college dorms. It’ll be fun for the kids to live with the results of their parent’s voting habits. The kids can prove how truly virtuous they are, instead of the usualvirtual virtue signaling.
