Housing Starts details:
Housing starts 1.331M vs 1.460M estimate Housing starts change for January -14.8% vs -4.3% prior Housing starts represents a slight decrease of 0.7% from the January 2023 rate of 1,340,000, with a margin of error of ±11.7%.
Single-family housing starts in January were at a rate of 1,004,000, marking a 4.7% decrease from the revised December figure of 1,054,000, with a margin of error of ±11.6%.
The rate for units in buildings with five units or more was 314,000 in January

All eyes on the USD, peaked in Oct 23, heading downwards….Throw in Inflation, higher taxes, the Fed had to buy $$$ 200 billion of unsold US debt instruments, $$$ 1 trillion in interest payments on our debt ( and rising), bank closures picking up, ……..the “ Trend” guarantees storms ahead….of course, the USD is still the best looking pig, so the slide will be slowly but surely DOWNWARDS.
Do beware the DOW has hundreds of $$$ Billions of foreign money being thrown into the DOW to prop it up, money fleeing from the conflict zones and the EU markets. …….FALSE…..sense of security…..” in” one day, “ out” the next.
Of course, CBDC’s ( cashless) will “ save “ the system….it’s coming.
So will the market driven by free money. Bad news is good news in this market and good news and super good news. Nothing said is negative to the upward spiral because it will
bring lower interest rates if bad or because it shows that the Bidet and Co are economic gurus.
Meanwhile we run trillion deficits as far as the eye can see. I don’t care what the CPI says it costs us about 50% more per month over 4 years ago to fund our house budget.

After a WAM I reset my calls to reflect it so...
I still see the move up on the ndx ...
rates and $$ lower .. but if your playing along at home ,
the base line moved.
But I’m ready to be ridiculed, laughed at, derided and shamed.(fat lady aint sung yet)
Right now I’m riding tqqq from ndx 17670
over 300 pts of track for the Q train so far .. and that is not counting the WAM

Yes, you did look good overnight on the futures (yes, I do look at those).
For me, the charts point to a short-term move down. Nothing apocalyptic at this point.
I think TPTB move the market higher between now and November.

but my plan to swing a long Q was still on track...
rates jumped and the dax flew ... but I have no fear(or sense) .. I had confidence in my call for 10y 4.1 and the dax at 104.1
ended up at 4.29 and 104.29 ....
