Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron and New York Attorney General Letitia James may have scored a major hit on former President Donald J. Trump with the unprecedented $354 million penalty but they may have inadvertently inflicted grave damage on the entire real estate industry.
On Friday, leftists were jubilant when Engoron announced the crushing financial blow on Trump, a ruling that in the opinion of one notable business expert, Kevin O’Leary of the popular television show “Shark Tank” is “un-American” and if not reversed on appeal, could potentially lead to other real estate developers facing similar charges from political activist prosecutors.
An entrepreneur and investor who is known as Mr. Wonderful on the long-running business reality show, O’Leary blasted the ruling as “unjust,” “appalling” and “un-American,” three terms that seem to perfectly describe the abomination in Engoron’s courtroom.
“That fact that he was found guilty, you might as well find guilty every real estate developer on Earth,” O’Leary told the New York Post in an interview after the ruling came down.
Engoron also barred the Republican frontrunner, a titan in the New York real estate development industry, from assuming any position as director or officer in the Empire State for three years, which O’Leary “sees as detrimental not just to Trump, but also to the broader business landscape,” according to the outlet.
“I don’t understand where someone got hurt … What developer doesn’t ask for the highest price valued for any building they built?” O’Leary asked.
“It’s not healthy for the country,” O’Leary added. “I want this reviewed and appealed and turned over because it’s wrong for everybody that participates.”
“If this judgment sticks, every developer must be jailed. They must be found guilty. They must be put out of business. You can’t do this to one another. It’s not about Trump,” he said, adding. “It’s appalling. It’s unjust. I would go as far to say it’s un-American.”
But it may turn out to be a Pyrrhic victory for James, Engoron and the Trump haters with the unintended consequences leading to an exodus from the deep blue city, its corrupted system of justice, and the kangaroo courts in which there should no longer be any expectation of getting a fair trial.
Calling New York “a loser state,” O’Leary said, “We’re just stunned. You have no idea. The shock wave sent through the real estate industry. Insane.”
“This ‘decision’ is a Complete and Total SHAM. There were No Victims, No Damages, No Complaints,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday.
Trump also blasted the “corrupt” judge in a statement after the ruling which he will appeal.
“The Justice System in New York State, and America as a whole, is under assault by partisan, deluded, biased Judges and Prosecutors. Racist, Corrupt A.G. Tish James has been obsessed with ‘Getting Trump’ for years, and used Crooked New York State Judge Engoron to get an illegal, unAmerican judgment against me, my family, and my tremendous business. I helped New York City during its worst of times, and now, while it is overrun with Violent Biden Migrant Crime, the Radicals are doing all they can to kick me out…..,” Trump added in another of a series of scathing posts.
New York needs to die economically because of this verdict.
Fraudulent numbers? Which ones? One can value their private property asking price, whether it's for sale or for collateral. It's subjective. It's private property. It's a private property transaction.
One can't mislead on the specifics of the property.
So which are the fraudulent numbers?
You sound like someone who didn’t watch the trial very closely.
“wrecking the country just to get one guy”
I think you’ve got it backwards.
This is Obama’s “transformation of America”.
They’re going after one guy...to wreck the country.
I asked a simple question.
Answer it.
That is also my contention.
No one needs to fear this precedent if you’re of the correct political persuasion.
In truth, for the present, it won’t get any worse, at all.
James and her cohorts got what they wanted (for now).
Just as this was the first time using the ‘novel’ approach to persecution, and predicated on the scale of DJT’s RE development biz. The next time will likely take some set of circumstances akin to this one, maybe less the more significant political components.
Here’s the judges comments on the “everybody does it” defense. “Timely and total repayment of loans does not extinguish the harm that false statements inflict on the marketplace. Indeed, the common excuse that ‘everybody does it’ is all the more reason to strive for honesty and transparency and to be vigilant in enforcing the rules. Here, despite the false financial statements, it is undisputed that defendants have made all required payments on time; the next group of lenders to receive bogus statements might not be so lucky. New York means business in combating business fraud.”
I though Paul Orondorff died many years ago.
Big whoop. It could have been a mistake. The bank did not complain. Thus there is no real civil plaintiff. How can you have a civil case without a plaintiff. The case is retarded as are the people who fall for it.
State Mar-a largo was a residence. It legally can't.
Mar-A-Largo was zoned residential. It did have a special exception to be used as a private club. Doesn't mean that it can't still be used for residential.
The entire case is political and bogus. You should be embarrassed.
If only the case was bogus. An error? Even he doesn’t call them errors. There was a time when conservatives would never support a fraud but count on him as the only chance to save the US.
There are only a couple on this thread who are falling for it...
I have a question:
WHO THE HE!! IS GETTING THE THREE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS IN THIS STUPID AND SHAM OF A CASE.
WHO GETS IT???? LETICIA, THE WALKING DEAD JUDGE, THE JUDGE’S MOROMIC ASSISTANT???
WHO. GETS. THE. MONEY?
what a great new revenue stream for govt!
Could have been a mistake? Trump bashed the ruling as “a fine of 350 million for a doing a perfect job.” No mistakes there.
Hochul tells NY businesses not to fear about Trump verdict: ‘Nothing to worry about’

Hochul joined John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM where she was asked if other New York businesspeople should be worried that if “they can do that to the former president, they can do that to anybody.”
“I think that this is really an extraordinary unusual circumstance that the law-abiding and rule-following New Yorkers who are business people have nothing to worry about because they’re very different than Donald Trump and his behavior,” Hochul responded.
translation: "This is a bill of attainder".
“When I use a word,” Governor Kathy Houchul said, in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean – neither more nor less.”
“The question is,” said real conservatives, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”
“The question is,” said Kathy Hochul, “which is to be master——that's all.”
She says the law abiding businesses have nothing to fear. Is your supposition that there are no law abiding businesses in NY state so they better buckle up?
Good
Right - a bill of attainder, as I said.
Go over to the Hochul thread and try to peddle your Democrat horseplop over there:

Or perhaps I'll link your post from here to everyone over there, if you're too much of a Lefty coward to put your money where your mouth is, joescucks.
Parts were so obvious that a trial wasn’t necessary. Summary judgement. Others were tried. In any event, his crap caught up with him. He is a fraud.
