Of course they are unprepared. They had helicopter parents doing all the work for them. They never learned much about life. They socialize online, so they don’t know how to interact in real life. They don’t have sex, they don’t have relationships, because they are uncomfortable in these situations and in their own skins. They think the world will end soon, they think it’s their responsibility to fix things they cannot control. They got poor educations and in the face of any serious work they are ill equipped to handle it. They don’t even know how to analyze it. They are experts at how to pose for selfies and what they are supposed to say regardless of whether they actually believe it - they live a forced form or cognitive dissonance and are unable or unwilling to attempt to resolve it. They are repressed, fearful of breaking from the dogmatic views they grew up in because of peer pressure. They don’t want to get flamed or bullied online. They don’t want to post anything controversial because it will be on their “permanent record” (the internet is forever).
