I have a dumb question. Since these idiots are pumping massive stores of concentrated CO2 into underground chambers, what happens in say 10 years there is a BIG LEAK?

Not at all. The best thing that could be done for for life on the planet is a rise in CO2. It won't really do anything to the climate.
