High-tax states are running out of things to tax, so they resort to lawsuits against profitable companies

People and businesses are moving out of Illinois, New York and California because of their far-left policies.

These high-tax states are running out of things to tax to support their big spending policies.

So they resort to lawsuits to get more money since they can't print it. Lawyers are some of the biggest Democrat supporters.

Chicago is now suing oil companies for their supposed damage to the climate.

Mayor Johnson, City Of Chicago Sues Oil And Gas Companies For Climate Deception

Taxpayer protection, climate justice at heart of complaint.

These lawsuits have been going on for a while. Six years ago New York sued oil companies for the same thing:

The City of New York has filed a lawsuit in state court against Exxon Mobil (XOM), Shell, BP (BP), and the American Petroleum Institute for allegedly misleading New York consumers about the role their products play in climate change and for allegedly “greenwashing” their practices to make them seem more eco-friendly than they are.

First off, these lawsuits are frivolous. There is absolutely zero evidence that shows a correlation between our consumption of oil, coal, natural gas, and temperatures, sea level, and storm activity. Temperatures and storm activity have always fluctuated cyclically and naturally. There have been warm and cold periods during the last 160 years when our use of oil, coal and natural gas have risen exponentially.

It is a massive fraud to continually lie that the science is settled when they never show a direct relationship. The lawsuits should be tossed but they aren't because there is massive collusion to push the radical and destructive green agenda.

And get this ... fresh off her fraudulent triumph at a court that confiscates half a billion dollars from Donald Trump for doing NOTHING ILLEGAL, guess what New York AG Letitia James, now drunk with power, is doing?

She is now suing a beef producer because she says they mislead the public that they are moving towards net zero.

New York state Attorney General Letitia James sued beef producer JBS in state court for allegedly misleading the public about a pledge the company made to slash its climate pollution in the coming decade. Prosecutors said JBS continued making deceptive marketing claims even after a consumer watchdog group recommended the company stop advertising because it didn't have a strategy to achieve its climate target.

After you legalize pot to tax it like NY did what’s left?

The talk about “climate change” was just a big blowup to find a way to justify new taxes.

Emmanuel Macron in France moved to tax fuel in 2018 and the people came out on the streets in their Yellow Vests.

Trudeau in Canada claiming “Climate” dictates taxation of energy as well.

They are not done with taxation. In Fresno there are two measures on the ballot one for the homeless and the other for Fresno state university . One adds to your property tax’s the other to sales tax. Both will probably pass. They will continue to raise property taxes until you can’t afford your home or farm.

If they both pass, WHO IS TO BLAME? The majority of the voters of course. If raising taxes will make you unable to afford your home or farm, WHY VOTE FOR IT? And if you do vote for it, you deserve it.

Non citizens, students, welfare recipients, government employees, and stupid liberal property owners vote for this crap. Once they have destroyed an area they move on to another conservative community. Which explain Nancy Pelosi moving to Florida.

The Oregon legislature is moving towards taxing independent animal shelters. It would put them out of business.

If this lawfare belligerance is allowed to stand, pretty soon they’ll move beyond businesses - to you. Do you farm? Grow a garden? Drive a gasoline car? Heat with fuel oil or natural gas? You’re killing the planet and you must pay.

Part of the problem is company legal & PR staffs encourage a cowardly approach to these lawsuits. They need to never ever settle out-of-court, use their deeper pockets to drag it out and counter sue the organizations and people who file the suits.

These private do-gooder NGOs don’t have the deep pockets certainly not compared to energy companies.
