I was being facetious.
What if Mossad was justified in doing it?
So....
Not only is Israel the only ones who are allowed to have their own ethno-state...
Not only do we provide them arms to kill civilians...
Not only do we fight wars on their behalf...
Not only are they allowed to spy on our political, scientific and business leaders through child sex honeypots...
Not only do they have dual citizens in all of the highest positions of our government...
But....they are also allowed to kill our diplomats.
I thought maybe that would be a bridge too far but I guess there isn’t one.
I asked a question.
You did not answer it.
;-)
I would never support a foreign agent killing an official of the United States.
If you would support that, you need to look at why you have a greater allegiance to a foreign government of an ethno-state based on people from a religion which is not yours.
Unless it is your religion. In which case there is nothing more that needs to be said.
Being a diplomat, especially when as cover
for being a spy, is a dangerous profession.
You answered the question.
My view—if the Biden diplomat was secretly and actively providing significant military support or intelligence to Hamas that put large numbers of Israeli lives at risk I believe Mossad assassination would be justified as an act of self defense.
In that scenario the diplomat would be a de facto combatant subject to the rules of war.
Btw I would make that same argument for any other country. They have an obligation to protect their own citizens from enemy spies and combatants.
There may be less drastic options available, of course—so the details would matter.
To be blunt I would not put the lives of my citizens (any country) at risk subject to the whims of this administration.
If you support the murder of American citizens by a foreign government, you are no patriot.
The details matter.
I am sure there are circumstances where the actions of an American overseas would turn your stomach enough that even you would make an exception.
I thought of an example.
Suppose a foreign government had absolute proof that an American diplomat or diplomat of any other nation was deeply involved in an organized child trafficking ring kidnapping their citizens.
Expecting them to follow the rules of diplomacy is a bit idealistic—imho very few countries would do that.
If that foreign government was Iran in your imagined scenario, you’d be cool with them assassinating the American citizen without a trial?
It is not a question of what I am comfortable with—I am just saying the notion that diplomatic folks can get away with anything in a war zone is unrealistic.
Every diplomat understands that—even if you do not.
If they want to play favorites in wartime then they are rolling the dice.
Mmmm hmmm.
During 2017, under Trump our military was training ISIS fighters to fight against Assad. I assume you would be ok with a Syrian assassin killing Trump.
I don’t care if it’s Russia, the U.K. or Israel…I would never condone or justify a foreign country killing a diplomat or politician of my own.
Regardless of how bad the oligarchs are that control the Biden administration are …they will always have the interests of my 3 children in higher regard than the oligarchs that control the Kremlin, 10 Downing or the Kinnesit.
The Biden folks are really really bad.
Nothing they were up to would surprise me.
Hopefully we will learn more details and then can revisit this issue.
How do they know it’s an American diplomat if they can’t ID him?
