President Joe Biden on Tuesday will launch a task force to combat “unfair and illegal” corporate pricing amid record inflation under the 46th president.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) will lead the task force to police what the Biden administration believes are the reasons consumers are experiencing higher prices than ever.
“We’re excited to be co-chairing the president’s new Strike Force on Unfair and Illegal Pricing, which builds on the FTC’s far-reaching work to promote competition and tackle unlawful business practices that are inflating costs for Americans,” FTC Chair Lina Khan said.

In the real world, it would theoretically not be difficult to defend. Here is my supplier/vendor price, and here is my sell price, and here are my margins. Same margins I’ve always had.
However, when you are dealing with a government task-force, or government czar, or even just with bureaucrats, the only right answer would be proving that you lost money on all of your translations (which of course would never happen because you wouldn’t stay in business). If they found one transaction showing a profit, then it’s off to the gulags!
Nixon started price controls to solve this.
Gerald Ford had buttons and led people in chants “Whip Inflation Now.”
