That’s pretty much the sole occupation of the county sheriff’s in most places I’ve lived. Tax delinquent sales. They grab em up before release to the public offering.
There's at least 1 police department here in Utah that does the same with impounded cars. My dumba** drunk brother had 2 vehicles impounded within a 2 month period, due to DUIs. Before we could get to the lot to pay the fees, they had been sold. No, we weren't giving them back to him. One brother wanted the old vintage truck & the other truck my elderly father had just given to dumba**.
