Texas salon owner sent to jail for defying COVID lockdown orders wins state House primary; God is Good.

The Texas woman who went to jail rather than keep her hair salon closed during government-imposed COVID lockdowns may soon have some power to affect government policy now that she has won her local state House primary.

In 2020, Shelley Luther made national headlines after she was arrested and sentenced to spend a week in jail for criminal contempt of court after she reopened her Dallas hair salon in defiance of Republican Gov. Greg Abbott's stay-at-home orders. Dallas County Judge Eric Moye offered her the chance to avoid jail time as long as she paid thousands of dollars in fines, shut down her salon once again, and formally apologized for her "selfish" actions.

"I have hairstylists that are going hungry because they would rather feed their kids," she told Judge Moye. "So, sir, if you think the law is more important than kids getting fed, then please go ahead with your decision. But I am not going to shut the salon."

I remember while that was happening Nancy Pelosi had no problem going to a salon.

The judge in her case was an arrogant POS. I respect Ms. Luther for standing up to him. Apparently, voters in her district felt the same way.

Good for her. Can she have the judge’s property condemned and burned to the ground?
j/k…or maybe not

Wow, I need some Good News, to start my day. This will do. Good for her. I hope she goes to replace The Other Texas Senator who at heart is a Democrat.

Now impeach or vote out, as appropriate, the judge.

Remember, it’s the same issue that encouraged Lauren Boebert to run for office and win. People were pissed at the government’s jack-booted actions. Though I suspect she will lose in the primary this time.

Of course, Boebert needs to get her personal life in order but I think most of those problems are caused by her husband. He seems to be a bully with a hair-trigger temper.

Here is an article after Boebert won.

So we’re giving Abbott a free pass for starting the whole mess in TX to begin with? The rot starts at the top.

I don’t think her husband made her get drunk and give a public handjob.

In the beginning nobody understood it. Would you have held him blameless if 3/4 of the population of Texas died from covid?

Not likely.

Her getting drunk and wanting to do all the young girl things that she didn’t get a chance to do because married so young can explain that.

Just yesterday there was an article here with Trump touting the vaccine “accomplishment”.

Trump took so much criticism over the years over nonsense, that his most ardent supporters will defend anything and everything he says or does.

But, once again, it’s the most important election ever for the 7th consecutive time.

I thought it was the County Commissioner’s Court Judge ( county govt) that put her in jail. Clay Jenkins remains an A**hole!

So glad she beat out the incumbent.

We should be reminded everyday about the Covid hysteria and the draconian, unconstitutional government response to it. It’s criminal that we haven’t had Covid war trials to punish the perpetrators for crimes against humanity. Fauci, Birx and Collins should be jailed for life.

I didn’t know public handjobs was a “young girl thing”.

That you excuse her behavior shows how low the bar is.

How can our side argue any moral point with massage parlor whores in Congress?
