After the 2020 presidential election took days to call, many states reworked how they process mail ballots with the goal of delivering results faster — and cutting off oxygen for conspiracy theories that flourished as the country waited for results.
Election officials are optimistic that the 2024 vote count will be smoother without the many challenges the pandemic election of 2020 posed to officials. But in the event of a close race, a handful of key battleground states could keep Americans waiting well beyond Election Day yet again to learn who will be president for the following four years.
Clerks in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — two of the most closely divided states in the 2020 election — still will not be able to process any mail ballots prior to Election Day, despite efforts of state lawmakers to change the rules. That means there could again be a massive pileup of absentee ballots to sort through in those states Nov. 5, along with the in-person vote.

But there have been quite a few stories of states who relaxed registration roster standards recently.
What does “to call” mean? Is “calling an election” in the Constitution? Is a popular vote election for President in the Constitution?
If “calling” is part of the process, who is in charge of doing it? And who or what grants that authority?

It is downright SHAMEFUL that we can’t get the count done in one day. Other countries, big and small, have no such issues.
All the time wasted counting creates suspicion of fraud and dirty tricks, or total incompetency.
Which is it?
I think what they mean is the media announcing that they believe a certain candidate is going to win.
There are official policies and procedures in place in each of the 50 states to certify the results of elections. The official results are not legally certified until weeks after election day.
And in the case of presidential elections, the election is not official until January 6th, when Congress officially counts the electoral votes
The media calling an election has no legal standing.
2020 should have been called for Trump that night but then Dems started the fraud machine in Atlanta, Phoenix, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Philadelphia until they manufactured enough votes for Biden to stop counting.
There have some recent stories here on Free Republic, where people have posted stories of some states that have tightened up their election procedures.
I cannot quote chapter and verse which states those were.
We really need to know about the Battleground States and what if anything has been done in certain Battleground States. Because those Battleground states are going to tip the balance in the election, one way or the other.
In order to allow the DemocRAT Party time to steal elections it must take time!

Consider that political party and media fuss about "obsolete" electoral college is because it is the only thing stopping the corrupt political parties from establishing a permanent puppet presidency that will unquestioningly sign unconstitutional taxing and spending bills into law.
Regarding the fuss about counting votes, the drafters of the Constitution established the electoral college to make sure that the right commander-in-chief is in the wartime Oval Office.
On the other hand, consider that the electoral college is MAJOR overkill for a peacetime POTUS imo.
After all, given that one of the very few powers that the states have given to the peacetime federal government to dictate domestic policy is to run the US Mail Service, most federal domestic policy now based on state powers that the very corrupt post-17th Amendment ratification Congress has stolen from the states, Obama had the right idea for a peacetime president when he took time to golf imo.

Trump-supporting Democratic and Republican patriots need to IMMEDIATELY primary all incumbent state and federal incumbent lawmakers and executives up for reelection this year, except for MTG, Gaetz & Company (and others?).
After all, election after election, career lawmakers are repeatedly showing that they don't have the leadership skills and patriotism necessary to find legislative remedies for corrupt, unconstitutionally big state and federal governments.

Patriots then need to replace worthless, Trump-hating incumbent lawmakers with Trump-supporting patriot lawmakers in November so that hopeful Trump 47 will not be a lame duck president from the first day of his second term in office, but will be supported by the new Congress to finish draining the swamp.

I watched the whole thing live and kept tabs on the internet. Biden’s stop and steal was done in live time. I knew we had a problem after AZ and MI. Trump would be up and just like that leads evaporated. The media declared a stoppage (”all votes should be counted”) as the cheating dog whistle as Biden had a “rally” of 10 honking cars. After that in subsequent days,Trump inexplicably was flat and Biden was gaining “votes”. Saying the election was stolen is not crazy talk. Bottom line is that nothing was done to correct any of the above.
Right now someone could go up to Soros and sons and ask for the day after election results. They know them now.
When leftist-run (and ruined) states are allowed to get away with illegally changing their election laws, as the last minute, to facilitate their election theft activities...
why yes, it can (and probably will) happen again.
If the GOP had any nads or integrity, they would push for a bill to be passed mandating that all votes must be in by midnight on election night in order to be included or counted in that election. It ain’t rocket science, except to some.
The question is: Why the hell are most Americans allowing this BS? I think that most Americans are not in favor of the way things are being run/ruined. It’s past time to make that sentiment known to these cretins... good & plenty.
The urban people of color, especially the males, need to understand how elections are being run in their communities. They should be prepared to peacefully protest, and I emphasize peacefully, if they can’t watch the votes being counted AGAIN. These are the people who need to become more active citizens this election if they want relief from the swarms of illegals in their communities.
These two journalists are morons. In 2000, it took a month for Americans citizens to find out who their President was, after Gore tried to overturn the election in Florida, and the decision ended up in the Supreme Court.
Pennsylvania, for example, is notoriously slow in counting ballots. But that’s because state law requires election officials to keep absentee and mail-in ballots sealed until Election Day. In a state like Florida, on the other hand, counting mail-in ballots days before Election Day gives more opportunities for election officials to mess around with the results.
