Americans are used to our provincial idea of an “arrest” and the cliche “he’s going away for a long, long time.”
Followed by criminal out of the loose again looking for new victims.
A student assistant I knew at the library was from India. She said once after Hindus were burned alive on a bus by Muslims people went around looking for Muslims, pulled them out of cars and beat them to death so they were barely recognizable bloody masses.
