There’s definitely going to be more never-Trumpers resigning leading up to November so even if Trump wins in a fair election Congress is controlled by the Democrats.

The (D)'s and never Trumpers like Buck want the dem's in control of congress so that they can:
1. Not certify a Trump win.
2. Then certify that biden has the necessary remaining EC votes and is therefore President (elect).
