No, the bad news streak did not start this year - but when Boeing dismissed two international 737 Max airplanes crashes within months of each other back in 2018-19 resulting in the deaths of hundreds.

Sounds like 20th Century Motor Co. “ Gerald Starnes died, leaving three children: Gerald Starnes, Jr., his younger brother Eric, and their sister Ivy. Together they proposed a radically new business plan: they would have all the employees work according to their ability, and “pay” them according to their needs.”

Wasn’t the reason for this happening because the two pilots fell asleep “at the wheel” and the plane began to dive?

If so, how is it Boeings fault?

Things started with the merger with McDonnell Douglas.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/1997-merger-paved-way-boeing-090042193.html

In a clash of corporate cultures, where Boeing’s engineers and McDonnell Douglas’s bean-counters went head-to-head, the smaller company won out. The result was a move away from expensive, ground-breaking engineering and toward what some called a more cut-throat culture, devoted to keeping costs down and favoring upgrading older models at the expense of wholesale innovation. Only now, with the 737 indefinitely grounded, are we beginning to see the scale of its effects

“”Bad management. DEI initiatives. Being run by accountants and MBAs instead of engineers.””

I believe the above statement is a huuuuge part of the present issues.

One other contributing factor is Boeing’s bottom line. NASA used to issue Cost Plus contracts. If Boeing bid $2 billion and received a Cost Plus contract, they could just keep on billing for any cost overruns. NASA no longer issues Cost Plus contracts. Boeing is building a space capsule for NASA, but no ability to just keep billing and receiving $$$. They actually repeated the insanity that caused the Apollo 1 fire. After basically finishing the capsule, the ‘discovered’ some of the wiring material was flammable.

?!?!?!?!?

Another example of the insanity of Cost Plus contracts. The James Webb space telescope is wonderful. That said, the spending increased from $2 billion to $10 billion. NASA’s planetary exploration budget is now greatly diminished.

STILL no detail on the ‘technical event’.

smh

And, btw, it didn’t start in 2018, but in 2010. Sadly, the feds colluded with Boeing to shut down the whistleblowers about the 737NG production problems and nothing changed.

The events in the news today are a direct result of the trajectory on which Boeing CHOSE to remain.

If CNN is reporting it, that means it’s time to buy Boeing stock.
