President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that Russia is ready to use nuclear weapons if its sovereignty or independence is threatened, issuing another blunt warning to the West just days ahead of an election in which he’s all but certain to secure another six-year term.
The Russian leader has repeatedly talked about his readiness to use nuclear weapons since invading Ukraine in February 2022. The most recent such threat came in his state-of-the-nation address last month, when he warned the West that deepening its involvement in the fighting in Ukraine would risk a nuclear war.
Asked in an interview with Russian state television released early Wednesday if he has ever considered using battlefield nuclear weapons in Ukraine, Putin responded that there has been no need for that. He also noted that he doesn’t think that the world is heading for a nuclear war, describing U.S. President Joe Biden as a veteran politician who fully understands possible dangers of escalation.

Well , the roblem is that Biden is so weak, and has weakened the US military so badly, that Biden WOULD use nukes.
This is shaping up to be an armageddon scenario.
It will start with Brandon dropping a line of nukes across the advancing Russian lines as the Russian army pushes into Ukraine. THe prevailing winds would blow the fall out East.

We seem to be great at taking on micro-countries that are absolutely no challenge. We've been doing it for over 50 years. What a disaster.
And, do I need to mention the outright lies they tell about our opponents and how great we can defeat any other country -- NOT.
I'm proud to be an American and a vet. But our so-called leaders are the bullies of the world. You know, like the big guy in school that beats up on the little twerps but avoids a real challenge.
And we, the citizens, are not immune either. Look at the two-tier justice system and the steamroller that glides over each of us. Why do they do it? Because they can. We have no power to fight back.
What's the lesson here?
Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely!
Unfortunately, our power is on the downhill slide.

We are in deep trouble if Putin believes that. Someone needs to send Putin video evidence of Biden’s senility.

Could one of the reasons for this be because Republicans by and large vote for unprincipled appeasers and Deep State lackeys instead of dedicated fighters who will protect OUR rights? Just asking for a friend.
Who wouldn't? Wouldn't the US use nuclear weapons it its existence was threatened? Wouldn't any country which possess nuclear weapons use them if there was an existential threat?

A more sensible headline would have included the word "only". As in....."Putin warns again that Russia is ready to use nuclear weapons only if its sovereignty is threatened"
Putin follows the hardline Russian Nationalist school of thought, which holds Russia is entitled to be sovereign over the lands of Rus, the vast captive lands held by the Rus inside the present boundaries of the Russian Federation, all lands ever held by the Russian Empire, all lands ever held by the Soviet Union, all lands ever seriously coveted by the Russian Empire (i.e., the Dardanelles), and all lands that border territory currently held by Russia.
One will note that the last facet of this ideology means that, by definition, a land border means that Russian sovereignty is threatened. Which bodes ill for the Putin Fanbois position that, if only we would allow the Russian Army to rape, loot, and murder its way across (checks notes), Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Moldova, Transnistria, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Nakhchivan, all would be well.
First, the fact that you think a nuclear exhange ONLY leads to total armageddon is amusing.
They will keep the nuclear exchange limited. Both men will get credit for "restraint" and ushering in a new era of world peace. But the suspension of the constitution that takes place will allow the WEF to reorganize western world governments under a single authority. Just as they have done recently in several countries, they will allow the public to write the new constitution (at least let the public think they are writing it).
As it invades all of its neighbors, it complains about sovereignty.
Ok…that is a plausible scenario.
Maybe.
But, also, it could be the fact that our leaders' primary focus is preserving their jobs (getting elected). So, they look in our eyes and tell us big fat lies, which are not checked by a complicit media. They tell us one thing and do exactly the opposite. Power is relegated to the strong ideologues and the money and power behind them.
By the way, it's both parties. Neither has a monopoly in this.
That power and the money behind them manipulate us and the micro countries like we are the pawns on a chessboard.
And then, pretty soon, they believe their own BS and think they can control all of mankind -- UNTIL THEY CAN'T.
Only one power can control all of mankind, and I'm afraid he's giving us all the rope we can take -- to hang ourselves.
