American missionaries trapped in Haiti pleaded for rescue on Tuesday, reporting constant gunfire around their hideaway and corpses rotting in the streets. The group’s leader said the only assistance they have received from the Biden administration was advice to “be safe.”
“Okay, well, that’s not really helpful,” Jill Dolan of the group Love A Neighbor said of the response she received from the U.S. Embassy when she asked for help getting her family out of Haiti.
“My fear is that we will be caught in the middle of something really dangerous. We’re already on the front lines of it; we’re in a bad area. It’s kind of depressing. The gunfire never stops,” Dolan told the New York Post on Tuesday.
Dolan and her family are holed up in a “makeshift motel” in the capital city of Port-au-Prince, where the worst battles of Haiti’s immense gang war have been fought. She and her family founded Love a Neighbor — a nonprofit missionary charity, based in Washington State — to help manage a small orphanage for children abandoned or sold by their impoverished parents.
Dolan said she was on her way out of Haiti to attend a wedding in Florida with her husband and adopted teenage children when gangs attacked the airport, causing all commercial flights to be canceled.
“We’ve contacted agencies to extract us out. They have just said, ‘It’s way too dangerous where you are; you have to stay put,’” she told CBS News on Wednesday.

Once complete, it will enable delivery of 2 million meals and other supplies daily.

These missionaries spend all kinds of money and fly over a thousand miles worth of people who could use the word. Missionary picaninny adventure travel is annoying.
I am not aware of any state or city that could not use Christian missionaries right there at home.

It's time to treat Haiti as India does Sentinel Island. Cut them off. Make no contact. Observe from afar. Leave them to themselves.
That is a pretty tough deal. A place like Haiti has obvious risks. I would hope that these missionaries have placed their trust in the Lord Jesus.
Not too many people want to go to heaven “early”.

They were rescued yesterday when FL US Congressman, Cory Mills, using his own funds, contracting with an aviation company, used a helicopter with two pilots to bring the ten souls back to the USA. Cory was on-board for the rescue.

* Mills was working in tandem with Rep. Lisa C. McClain (R-Mich.). McClain told The Washington Post she found out about the stranded group from a constituent who called her Saturday. She soon asked Mills for help.
It was not immediately clear how Mills, who appeared to take part in the rescue mission, found two helicopters and a team to fly on such short notice.
“He runs with a different crowd than you and I,” McClain said, pointing to the congressman’s nearly decade-long military service, which included deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
“We knew, quite frankly, that we weren’t going to get out if we were waiting for the government to help us,” Albom said. Album runs an orphanage in Haiti and wrote “Tuesdays with Morrie” and “The Five People You Meet in Heaven.”
The State Department issued a statement: "[there is] no higher priority than the safety and security of U.S. citizens overseas. We are always relieved to learn that U.S. citizens are safe. That said, the security situation in Haiti is very uncertain and initiatives like this are risky and can put people in harm’s way.”
ONE experienced can-do guy, a Republican Congressman no less, decided to go rescue them instead of letting them stay there and probably die or be taken hostage.

On my way home from Cleveland this afternoon, I was listening to a Detroit radio station. They were talking about a helicopter rescue mission. I missed the beginning of it and didn’t know who was doing the talking until near the end a lady came on. She identified herself as Rep. Lisa C. McClain.
It was a wildly exciting story. Those people had quite an adventure.
