Allowing female members of the civil service to get married is hardly a communist goal.
I wonder why they had that bar in the first place. It would seem to be less disruptive if the women WERE married; but maybe they assumed that women might have kids and that would cause problems.
(Of course, unmarried women get pregnant, too...)
I don’t think you understand communists too well, then. “Abolition of the family” is one of their primary dogmas.
