To say many Americans are furious with Tyson Foods right now would be an understatement. When word broke that they are closing a plant in Iowa so they can hire migrants in states with more “refugee-friendly” employment laws, the backlash was swift and may continue for a long time.
In short, they’re getting the “Bud Light Treatment” and rightly so. An entire popular beer brand was effectively decimated because they put an image of a transgender man on their cans. Shouldn’t the anger be heightened against a company that is firing 1,200 employees in a town with only 8,000 people?

Thanks. I regularly buy 7 or 8 of those brands. I mean Who could imagine that Gallo Salame was part of Tyson? Once we’ve eaten what’s in the fridge, no mas.

Tyson makes less profit off the generic store brands so there’s that. You might be able to get a hint from the label if they note the company or even just the address where the product is sourced from.

All of those used to be independent companies.
All the mergers and acquisitions and consolidations over the years have led to this..................

It turns out that large scale farming of insects is not cheaper or better for the environment than beef.

Read up on what they feed pigs. They call it recycling food but most of the food being feed to pigs is plastics that was ground up with left over food. Never buy any pork products from major markets or companies. The Chinese control most of the pork production in America .

The secret ingredient to my spicy chili (which has won an office contest or two) is a lot of Jimmy Dean spicy sausage ground in there instead of just beef. It gives it a real rich sizzle that can knock your socks off.

Most of these ‘foods’ you should not be eating anyway: Highly processed, loaded with salt, fat, sodium nitrites and nitrates and whatever fell on the floor................

Thank you. Only brand I’ve bought is Jimmy Dean. Will eat up what’s in my freezer but won’t buy any more.
To: Red Badger
Thanks for that list.
We don’t eat meat from processing plants, but ... you never know about all of these other products.

Companies like Tyson will be willing to lose money on insects for quite a while, and by then, there will be a food shortages and rationing, so their economics will pick up.
