The so-called elites are bloody fools. They think nothing can happen to them and they can take a crap on everyone and everything and ignore history showing time and again this usually ends up like the French Revolution for them and no mercy is given to them.
They are not elites, they are trash with more money than ethics, class and common sense.
looking more like there folks are setting themselves up like rich, over educated aristocrats of old. They use their power in ways that ensure Revolution and will wonder why they are sent to the guillotine or gulag. Sadly, they will take their wives and children with them.
