I’m no expert, but it seems to me that many Jewish voters are living in the past. Much like with many older, somewhat conservative Democrat voters.
These folks think the Democrat party is still the party of the working class, the blue-collar workers who are struggling to get ahead. Those days are gone. Today’s Democrat party is the party of radical socialists, and worse. It’s not even close to the party of Truman and JFK.
I think your “frog in a pot of heating water” analogy is a good one. The change in the Democrat party happened slowly over time. I have many conservative Democrat friends who still can’t see it. They think they’re voting for JFK. But they’re getting Lenin.
