In a recent interview on Fox News, former President Donald Trump warned, "Our country is being poisoned from within by the drugs and by all of the other crime that's taking place."
According to the latest provisional data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, between November 2019 and October 2023, there have been a shocking 270,000 overdose deaths from synthetic opioids - or about 80,000 overdose deaths per year - across the nation.
Under the Biden administration's first term, Americans have been increasingly traumatized by the tsunami of overdose deaths as disastrous open southern border policies flood the nation with illegal drugs and millions of unvetted migrants that have sparked chaos across major metro areas.

Americans only care when it affects them personally.
Good and proper method to thin the weak from the herd.

I am more worried about illegals flooding our cities by the millions than about fentanyl. I realize the latter is deadly but we’ve dealt with drugs before and still. But with upwards to 60 million or more illegals, how do we deal with that? It’d take over 40,000 a day to deport them over four years. And no political leaders, not even Trump, is laying out plans to do that.
This. While people should be protecting themselves and their families, "What can you do for your country" has become an outdated concept.
Used to be Indian attacks, accidents, wild animal attacks, disease that thinned the herd out of the weak and careless..now it is drugs.
Trump is right. Close the borders. Home school your children. A lot we can do. But we’ll have to be more pro-active.
People should probably not do drugs

Yup. Fentanyl is a border issue too. Close the border and solve all kinds of problems.
It'll never go away completely. But border enforcement is a big part of it.
I am currently reading “Blood Money” by Peter Schweizer, and it is heartbreaking and depressing.
We know where the Fentanyl is coming from, even when the Chinese piously intone that this is a problem of a decadent, free society.
Mexico and the illegals in this country are their “borrowed knife” (Chinese term for a third party who performs the murderous task in order to keep their hands clean) for inflicting the wound, and the wound is both actual and figurative payback for the shame and resentment they felt in the Opium Wars they see inflicted on them from the West.
We know it. They know it. But the ChiComs also know those of us who know it and could do something about it are in their pocket, afraid of blackmail, or simply afraid to stand up.

And that crap is coming from China.
There are people on the left, the democrat party, and in government who dont care at all about these overdose deaths because they think they are Maga hat wearing hill billies and less than human.
