These warnings are not due to the eclipse itself, but because of the influx of tourists associated with it, and putting pressure on transport, emergency, and cell phone infrastructure that isn't designed to cope with such a large number of people.

I live in NE Ohio within a few miles of the line of Totality.

I really hope that I get to see the eclipse in all of it’s glory.

But the odds are against me. April is typically a rainy gloomy month, wet and muddy. Less than half the days of April are sunny.

Anyone who comes here to watch the eclipse is not betting the odds and should do better research for their next vacation.

We’re going to be at a friends house near Cleveland. Dead center of the path.

If it’s going to be cloudy, we’re heading south but the long term forecast is promising.

We saw the 2017 eclipse from South Carolina. I’ve got Tuesday off work but a couple of the kids don’t so we need to head back to Maryland pretty soon after it’s over. I assume traffic will be horrible.

I’ll be watching from Cleveland, precisely in the path of totality. All the hotels around the city are booked up solid for the day before, at three times their normal rate in some cases. Lakefront parks, which will be ideal locations, are renting spaces to sit. The Guardians opening day game is starting a few hours later than usual so people can watch the eclipse from the stands before the game begins.

As for hazmat teams and all the rest, I have no idea what these imbeciles are talking about. It smells like an attempt to keep people thinking they need government to keep them safe, even though there is nothing to be kept safe from.
