Why would you wait until Friday to interview the ship”s pilots? We’re talking loss of lives and hundreds of millions in damages!
Could be a couple of issues. It gives the pilots a chance to collect themselves and it gives them time to lawyer up. I believe they belong to a union..
Well, given that it’s 8am, I expect the interview was yesterday.
The pilot was likely advised by counsel to not conc=sent to an interview right away. As a citizen, you have every right to do that. If you’re involved in a crash or self-defense incident, it’s wise to let 24 hours pass and the adrenaline rush to settle down.
My son was completely not at fault a few months ago when he rolled a fully loaded dump truck evading a school bus that pulled out in his path. He came over to our hose 6 hours after the accident and was seriously jacked up on adrenaline still. Imagine a crash that resulted in multiple deaths and billions of dollars in damages.
Given the scarce information, it seems that pilot performed admirably and went right into action attempting to stop a behemoth.
Pilots are Unionized.
