I would potentially support “squatters rights” if it was very precisely and narrowly crafted law.

Basically allowing one to obtain legal title to a property that was truly and legally abandoned.

It would be a potentially powerful force in reversing urban decay and squalor.

It would require the “squatter” to make significant improvements to the property and assume and pay off any and all back taxes and liens. Not by just simple “occupying” property legally owned by others.

Corporations, realtors and other types of professional invest firms would be prohibited from using that legal device.

A trip to jail and prosecution for squatting in/auto property they have no right to be on. Well, in sane world that’s how it’s handled… Unless you’re California
