TOPLINE A pair of conservative activists known for putting forward conspiracy theories ahead of the 2020 election have agreed to pay up to $1.25 million over a robocall campaign that New York Attorney General Letitia James said was meant to deter Black voters from voting by mail in the 2020 election.

James sued Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman over the robocall campaign in 2021, and in 2023, a New York judge issued a 111-page ruling finding them liable for violating federal and state law by setting into motion “a full-scale voter suppression operation” in 2020.

Under the settlement announced Tuesday, Wohl and Burkman will pay $1 million judgment to James’ office, the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation and individuals targeted in the robocall campaign—though the amount could increase to $1.25 million if they fail to pay at least $105,000 by the end of the year.

James’ office alleges the two orchestrated a wide-reaching robocall campaign using misinformation to try and dissuade Black voters from voting by mail.

Deflect and project from the fact that voting by mail should be illegal and is ripe for fraud.

Good. People that harass people with those stupid robocalls should be in prison. Surely there is something else they can do besides annoy people with their stupid political shit.

“One such call falsely told voters that submitting a ballot by mail would enter their personal information into a public database accessible to police departments and debt collection companies, while claiming the government was using mail-in voting records “to track people for mandatory vaccines,” according to a script publicized by James’ office.”

If true- this was just stupid and unnecessary of them....

But mail-in ballots became a frequent target for former President Donald Trump and his supporters who argued, without evidence, that the system was rife with fraud.

Nice to know that Forbes is still carrying the water for the Big Lie.

American Citizens, who are in good standing, should be able to vote and vote without suppression, oppression, threats, or violence. Nobody argues this. They should not have threatened people to prevent legitimate voting.

The aforementioned is obvious to everyone, and the Media is attempting to deflect from the key problems: 1) How many times they should be able to vote 2) if they are actually citizens in good standing who are eligible to vote 3) if the vote will be counted 4) and how many times the same votes will be counted 5) If the computer tallies actually match to 0.04% accuracy to the actual ballots 6) If the person voting signature matches the voter 7) If the ballot has a chain of custody 8) If people have equal chance to vote, or ‘privately funded’ drop boxes and ‘get out to vote efforts’ have prevented that. 9) If States follow their existing voter laws.
