Chinese Purchases Of U.S. Land Come Under Spotlight
AMAC ^ | April 12, 2024 | | Ben Solis

One of the most important under-the-radar issues in the 2024 election could be the practice of Chinese nationals and companies buying up vast swaths of American land.

In recent months, a number of states, mostly led by conservatives, have taken action to halt the practice of Chinese entities buying large tracts of farmland, ranchland, and timber claims. However, without strong federal action, which President Joe Biden and Senate Democrats have been unwilling to pursue, the practice could continue to imperil America’s physical and economic security.

Last June, as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, Congress did vote for a measure requiring the Department of Agriculture to review the sale of land comprising more than 320 acres or valued at more than $5 million to Chinese, Iranian, North Korean, or Russian nationals. However, the ban excluded individuals from those countries who are legal residents of the United States.

“legal residents” not even citizens.

All because of your worship of the fake religion of “diversity” you sold out your own countrymen.

After all, it would be ‘racist’ to not let chinese communists buy up our food supply.

In some cases spouses on the deed.

While a problem, not every purchase is nefarious

It all started with DeSantis in Florida, as most everything conservative has the last few years. That doesn’t make him fit to be King, as no one deserves that, but it should give pause to the many who are set out to destroy him.

Over 200 Chinese owned pot farms in Maine alone. Govs of states like that are very likely paid handsomely to “look the other way” while criminal enterprises run by foreigners takes place.

Odd that we onow that there are over 200 Chinese pot farms in Maine, but they are all still active? Seems that if they know about them, then they should be able to shut them down and deport the criminals running them.

What in the world were those jerks/people/companies thinking WITH when they sold the land?

Was it generational farmland owned by farmers being foreclosed?

Was it that buzzard of law “eminent domain”?

Was it the fan of dollars that got them, without a thought of what that would do to our nation?

Or, was it that other buzzard, venture capitalists, seeing a quick buck to be turned?

The farmers I might give a pass to, having been close “to under”, and having been schtooped by the feds with “eminent domain”. ( Norton AFB runway safety zone extensions).
“I could see the red runway lights frim my house.”

https://www.americanactionforum.org/research/foreign-ownership-of-u-s-agricultural-land/

...Of the 1.3 billion acres of private agricultural land in the United States, foreign entities fully or partially owned roughly 40 million acres valued at $74 billion in 2021.

...the top 10 foreign owners of U.S. agricultural land by acres were Canada, the Netherlands, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, France, Denmark, Luxembourg, and Ireland.

Individuals from these countries own three-quarters of the acres owned by foreigners...

In the 1980’s there was panic about the Japanese buying land and other assets. People were concerned when they bought the Pebble Beach Golf course. When the Japanese economy slowed and they tried to sell that land and those assets they found they had bought high and were force to sell low.

If the Chinese miscalculate and invade Taiwan they may find all their land acquisitions confiscated... So Sorry...

This started over 30 years ago in the Bay Area California.
There is a reason all the store signs near Apple HQ are in Chinese.
I remember when it was reported Pebble Beach Golf Course was going to be bought by China.

The great thing about land is that it can’t be moved. If the Chinese get too froggy, there’s no reason their land assets can’t be seized in the U.S.

See Russian oligarch assets for examples.
