Russia Military at Pre-war Level, US General Says

Russia is bolstering its forces for the war in Ukraine at a "far faster" rate than the United States originally estimated, a top general said.

Gen. Christopher Cavoli, head of U.S. European Command and NATO's supreme allied commander in Europe, said at Senate Armed Services Committee hearing Thursday that Russia's military has "grown back to what they were before" launching its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Newsweek reported.

Russian troops have "got some gaps that have been produced by this war, but their overall capacity is very significant still, and they intend to make it go higher," Cavoli said.

Ukraine is helping Russia’s military grow.

It’s like planting flowers. Ukrainian bodies are the fertilizer.

Cue “The Circle Of Life” song.

It’s going to take Moscow a bit longer to replace the first rate troops who died in the first days and weeks of the Russian invasion.

Russian Army is NOT at “pre-war” level. They are far above and beyond it

They have mobilized up to 1 million troops. They have turned their armaments factories up to full-production. They have had 2 years to prepare for a war with NATO (forget about Ukraine)

Russia is like the Union fighting the South; an industrial nation that has the capacity and the appetite to win at any cost.

Russia can create war material and impress soldiers at a rate they can lose and sustain while inflicting losses at a rate the smaller country can not afford to sustain.

And like the north, Russia is not going to allow anti-war sentiment to interfere with plans.

Well, Cavoli couldn't be too complimentary.

Just enough to smoothly change the subject to: "We've got to send more money and weapons to Ukraine before it's too late".

Not sure there is that much anti-war sentiment in Russia.

Except these troops are not well trained and will be mostly used for meat assaults.

Previous troops, at the start of Russia’s invasion, had years or decades of training. Now those troops are mostly dead or too badly wounded to return to the fighting.

Maybe if the generals weren’t so preoccupied with politics and pushing DEI they might have been able to do a better job of assessing foreign capabilities. Just saying.

Wait, we can't have Trannys and Homos in charge of Western and NATO Troops now?

What in the Heck are we fighting for?

No kidding…all those former militia in the DPR and LPR…became part of the Russian military when the territories joined the RF. And they have gotten better equipped trained experienced…and dedicated.

That’s over 60,000 men and they are fighting on their own land for their own villages…unlike the Uke conscripts scraped from the Trans Carpathia, and other areas far away from the frontlines in Donbass.

Who are these new Russian troops going to be fighting ?

It’s not like the Ukrainian troops are a bunch of well trained, well supplied experienced soldiers, most of the frontline Ukrainian troops have been killed as well

Poor guy - he’s just failing about trying to be relevant - but the truth is the conscripts and contractees have had only 2 years to be trained which is minimum - but that training never happened because they were sent to the front almost immediately.

How many years did you serve in the Russian Naval Infantry or were you part of the Northern or Pacific fleets?

All the Uke a laylas, have been saying for months that Russia was all in, and they couldn’t even beat Ukraine with full mobilizations. NOW, they are fully mobilizing. Which is it people?

“And they have gotten better equipped trained experienced…and dedicated.”

They have good motivation to keep the Ukrainians out of the Donbas now. There is going to be some nasty ethnic cleansing.
