To: Brilliant

There needs to be an opposition party. The Democrats represent the center-left. There is no party that represents the center-right.

There are only two options.

1. Reform the Republican party into a conservative party.

2. Create a new third party that is conservative.

What are your thoughts.

I’m not sure which is the right way forward. But I’ll point out that a third party presents its own set of challenges. The RINOs won’t disappear just because of a third party. Some of them might switch to the new party and carry on their deceptions there.

But whether reform comes in the form of a new party or a revamped Republican party, business as usual is going to have to stop. Maybe the party can try to institute some sort of voluntary campaign donation restrictions with all candidates being required to sign before being allowed to run as a party candidate. Relying more on caucuses than primaries, might also be a good idea. And there’s no escaping the need for voters to be well informed if the process is going to work.
