Can a mistrial only be declared by the presiding judge (Merchan)? Who is unlikely to declare that HE has caused one himself....

A biased judge, and a biased DA, and a bunch of biased jurors, are cause enough for a mistrial. We all know that all of the above are true, so a mistrial will occur, so, why not stop it before it even begins?

Besides, this is a Seinfeld-type trial; a trial about nothing, since there isn’t a crime that was committed.

If Trump’s lawyers thought they could get Merchan recused at the appellate level, they’d already be there.
