Israel attacked building next to the Iranian Embassy. Not the embassy. This is a lie repeated constantly. They killed military leaders housed in Syria running Hezbollah in Israel, and Hamas in Gaza. Those are the facts— as is the fact that Iran is behind all of this— PA, Hamas, Hezbollah, etc. Iran attacked Israel directly-— never mind them saying they wouldn’t hit civilians (that is idiotic- of course they wanted to). They couldn’t and were defeated (with remnants of the Abraham Accord- Saudis, Jordan and Emirates, helping knock down the attack). Fact also that the US did not strike very many of the attacking missiles,UAVs and cruise missiles. Israel did most of it- and it cost them a billion dollars to mobilize the entire defense and air units.
The US is an idiot trying to “manage” the Iranian mullahs—a fools game, and indeed a fools statement they are trying to walk back. Fooling nooone. Israel will defend itself not as a servant of the US or the EU cabal. This is obvious. Two State solution is shown as the West Bank being Palestine- again ridiculous- they wouldn’t have this and refused it every single time.
Very paternalist post from a freeper calling themselves algore. Odd.
I see a possible future that I would rather happen later then sooner.
If a sudden global warming event can be delayed by maybe a year, perhaps it could then be avoided for many more years.
Well said
[Israel attacked building next to the Iranian Embassy. Not the embassy.]
Some are calling it an “embassy annex building” but you guys are correct, it certainly wasn’t the main embassy building that was destroyed.

Yes, they did not hit the embassy, they hit the consulate annex building, another diplomatic facility next door. Under any circumstance, that is a violation of international law. This grotesquely incomplete "correction" is repeated constantly.

United Nations9593RD MEETING (PM)
SC/15650
2 April 2024Briefing Security Council on Reported Israeli Attacks against Iran’s Diplomatic Premises in Syria, Top UN Official Urges Efforts to Prevent Further Escalation
In a meeting urgently convened today following reports of Israeli attacks on Iran’s diplomatic premises in Syria, a senior United Nations official told the Security Council that the inviolability of diplomatic and consular premises and personnel must be respected and further escalation must be avoided.
“The rules-based international order is essential for international peace and security, which this Council is mandated to maintain,” said Khaled Khiari, Assistant Secretary-General for Middle East, Asia and the Pacific in the Departments of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations, in his briefing to the 15-member body.

Iran’s delegate reported that seven missile airstrikes from the occupied Golan Heights intentionally targeted her country’s diplomatic premises in Damascus, including the consular section building and the Ambassador’s residence. Tragically, these heinous attacks resulted in the martyrdom of seven Iranian personnel. Alongside the complete destruction of the consular building, the Embassy’s administrative parts also suffered significant damage due to the explosions, she added.

Well put, J.S.M. At least we still have a few FReepers with a sense of reality about this, around here.
I would clarify that by far most of Hezbollah and the threat of their rockets (and probably some fairly capable missiles) is in Lebanon. Not to minimize their activities in the West Bank at all...
The building the Israelis hit is often referred to as a “consulate”, and indeed some consular activities may have been conducted there as a cover, but the mere fact the Israelis didn’t kill a big batch of civilians there, while getting a nice chunk of Quds’ leadership, at least one fairly important Hezzy, and some assistants, pretty much tells the story. Yes, consulates and embassies are sometime used by most everybody for, shall we say, “non-diplomatic” purposes, but this was outright terrorist activities by terrorist leaders from terrorist groups and countries going on. No such building has immunity. Responsibility to limit civilian casualties would still apply, and the Israelis did. Many a commenter needs to compare, in all respects, to the wanton Iranian attack on the Israeli embassy in Argentina.
