Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Democrats painted a surreal scene on the House floor Saturday as the House passed a $61 billion bill to further Ukraine’s war effort.
As the inevitable outcome neared, Democrats produced dozens of miniature Ukraine flags, waiving them and cheering “Ukraine!” jubilantly.

The Democrats used to be very good at managing their image. Everything they do lately seems like an on-purpose punch in the face to large segments of the public. The trans support, for example. You’d think someone who counts in the hierarchy would have noted the Dillan Mulvaney catastrophe, and what’s happening to Disney and quietly told the members to dial it back a bit. But they’ve all doubled down. I think what has happened is the guys in suits who ran the party from their smokey back room courted every extreme group and now those extreme groups are in positions of power, and they can’t be controlled. Worse, or better depending, they have zero sense of politics, image and the pulse of American opinion. My impression was the people who used to run things were all older than Nancy Pelosi, so maybe they’re gone. Regardless, they’ve lost control.
It's also weed day.
Maybe they were hoping we'd be high as kites and not notice as they light our tax money on fire.
