Of course we all here know that. The problem is that the enemy knows how stupid most voters are and know this works on them.
Her dog killed some chickens. Yes we know the story. She wrote it. However, she completely screwed herself because the book was probably good. But she just had to put this story in to get the rest of the book ignored. Great job governor.

She shot the dog because it broke into a neighbor's hen house and slaughtered a large number of chickens. Not to eat them. To simply kill them.
She did the right thing by immediately paying for the damages and putting the animal down.
She didn't shoot the dog because it was a bad hunting dog, she said that as an aside.
I used to live in a country where people accepted the consequences for a dog that destroyed livestock. Even people who we would consider Leftists would have understood that the dog had to be put down for destroying livestock, and there would have been blowback on the person who owned the dog for letting it engage in the carnage.
And rightfully so. But this is what we get now, even from people who ostensibly support property rights.
