Blinken calls for Hamas to accept ‘extraordinarily generous’ cease-fire deal

Hamas should accept an “extraordinarily generous” proposal to release Israeli hostages it is holding in the Gaza Strip in exchange for a temporary cease-fire, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Monday, speaking at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Hamas is expected to respond to the U.S.-led proposal Monday in discussions with Egyptian and Qatari officials in Cairo.

“Hamas has before it a proposal that is extraordinarily, extraordinarily generous on the part of Israel,” Blinken said during a panel discussion at the WEF.

“And in this moment, the only thing standing between the people of Gaza and a cease-fire is Hamas. They have to decide, and they have to decide quickly,” he continued. “I’m hopeful that they will make the right decision.”

Like the pro-Hamas Columbia University Leftists who said “No” today, their Middle Eastern counterparts are saying “No.”

“At this point, the only thing standing between the people of Gaza and a ceasefire is Hamas”

Good lord! Dumbest statement of the year? Hasn’t it ALWAYS been Hamas? These people are so stupid they don’t even realize when the decline themselves.

Let the IDF finish off Hamas, once and for all and then maybe, just maybe, there might be a negotiation. Maybe. The problem will remain though, Israel is surrounded by oh, 600 million muslims in the middle east and Africa, who believe they need to be destroyed. That’s been the message since Mad Mo started his death cult....so, facing that music, I don’t think there’s any real chance of prolonged peace. Only periods from time to time. I guess like the rest of the world. I’d trust those mohammedans about as much as I trust their instructor, the Prince of Lies, Lucifer. Unless a Divine intervention of some major kind occurs, the madness will continue.

Yup

That is another reason why we should be behind Israel.

They are the ones that have proven a willingness to compromise and go so far that Rabin ended up being assassinated because of it.

But even when the Israeli’s give the Palestinians 90% of what they want and demand a 10% compromise by the Palestinians, guess what happens? Arafat back then said “no,” and the Palestinians will not accept any agreements that are not 100% what they demand.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2002/may/23/israel3 (this exemplifies the mentality of the Palestinians)

You cannot compromise with people that are negotiating from the stand point of demanding 100%. They are out of any zone of probable compromise. All you can achieve is a small publicity stunt that will get broken before the ink dries.

Blinken is hoping for the publicly stunt. Even he must know that he can’t really achieve much.

This is such BS- There was already a ceasefire inplace when hamas BROKE the peace by murdering and raping to death many unarmed civilians- A ceasefire with hamas is absolutely worthless as we’ve seen over and over again!

[[You cannot compromise with people that are negotiating from the stand point of demanding 100%]]

Exactly- the only thing left to do after beign betrayed over and over by them is to wipe them out because they have proven that they do not want peace- and all they want is complete domination and the extermination of Jews- You can’t negotiate with such evil- it has to be eradicated-

Doesn’t matter how many of the Hamas cockroaches Israel kills, more muslim cockroaches will scurry in to fill the void.

The only way it ends is banning Islam and designating it as a terrorist organization.

If you recognize that peace would end Hamas’ reason for existence, then you understand why Hamas cannot ever accept any peace agreement.

Brutally put, but yes.

All these peace deals and processes, negotiating, cease fires, etc. are simple tools used by the Palestinians who are a military inferior force to achieve military parity.

Start losing? Call for negotiations and a humanitarian cease fire where in reality you move weapons, people, ammo around, collect Intel, help folks trapped escape...

You’re not fighting the Germans in WWII. They follow rules.

You’re fighting folks for whom all these negotiations are merely a way to buy time and they are entirely insincere. Probability of Blinken being successful (having a real and lasting impact), 0.1%.

When people do not follow rules and culturally are deceitful, when this spills over into an armed conflict, it inevitably means more civilians will die. The boundaries are murky, no deal is real...

Just a PSA - Hamas and Israel had a cease fire agreement, which Hamas broke on Oct 7th.

So the question becomes, what is different with this agreement that will cause Hamas to honor the agreement this time?

Yeah if anyone has actually read this “Deal” basically it makes Hamas the BIG winner..they get EVERYTHING they want and Israel all they get back is 20 hostages, 20, out of 134..and Hamas gets EVERYTHING else, hundreds of their pro hamas murdering prisoners, no invasion into Rafah, the IDF has to leave..basically its telling Hamas “You won” which is what Biden wants since this is all about appeasing the Hitler youth in his base
